2015 was the year of Sours. When we sat down to craft our end of year list it was no surprise that nearly half of the beers we named were wild ales brimming with Brett. From there we began naming the second biggest style of 2015, Barrel-Aged (BA) (fill in the blank). Whether it is a BA stout, Golden Ale, or Barleywine, BA beers are everywhere and of course on our list. The two beers on the list that are not either sours or barrel-aged happen to come from my favorite brewery of the year, Chicago’s Spiteful Brewing.
2015 was a fantastic year for beer drinkers, and 2016 should be even better!
