Wolfden Brewing Company is a currently a young pup, somewhere between a home brewer and micro-brewer, but is preparing to grow into a full grown wolf of a Chicago brewery. In preparation they are taking an interesting step in asking anyone who has been able to try their beer to give honest and detailed feedback through their website. Each of their 7 beers have feedback form asking everything from carbonation, smell, and mouthfeel to did the flavor fit the style. It is exactly they type of feedback that can help a young brewer grow and develop their craft.
Their latest release is called LOBO, a 7.2% ABV Stout brewed with Mexican cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee beans. #wolfdenbrewing #businessofcraftbeer #homebrew #chicagobeer

Another brewery acquisition was announced this week. Just weeks after the Ballast Point news, Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery has been acquired by AB Inbev. The brewery joins Elysian Brewing, Goose Island, and Blue Point as part of what AB Inbev calls the High End.
Breckenridge Brewery has been around for 25 years and is the 6th largest craft brewer in Colorado. Late yesterday the brewery’s President, J. Todd Usry, posted an open letter to the faithful fans of Breckenridge promising that this will only be beneficial for the brewery in allowing it reach more people and drive more innovation. #Mergers&Acquistions #BreckBrew #AbInbev

Nice Carmel up front, smooth bourbon heat right after, then nice chocolate. Coffee comes through more as it warms up. A great sipper. Heat from the barrel also gets more apparent as it warms. Delicious brew! #bourboncounty # coffeestout #gooseisland
Another good brew from spiteful. Not overly bitter, well balanced, smooth ipa with honey. #spiteful #ipa #beerwithhoney#selfiesareforweiners
There is something to be said for knowing you are close to something great and taking another step forward. Absence of Light is an example of a brewery taking a solid base beer, the 5.5% ABV Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk Stout, and making the right adjustments. For this beer 4 Hands turned down the sweetness and turned up the ABV (7.1%). This beer is so drinkable, tasting like a chick-o-stick likely dripped in dark chocolate. It’s well balanced and well priced, and one of the best beers 4 Hands has produced. #AbsenceofLight #4HandsBrewing
Lombard’s Noon Whistle is releasing a Cabernet Barrel-Aged variant of their 3.8% ABV gose, Gose Smack, brewed Pink Himalayan Sea Salt and Coriander. The release event takes place at the brewery ( 800 E Roosevelt Rd, Lombard) on December 23rd.
If you arrive early or stay late you should try their just released West Coast style IPA, Rubix brewed with Simcoe, Galaxy & Amarillo. #NoonWhistle #GoseSmack #RubixIPA #DrinkIllinois
