Avery’s vanilla bean stout is a 10.8% a.b.v. B.A. stout. While it lacks in having much of the bourbon taste you would expect. It did have other complexities such as chocolate, Carmel, and molasses coming through very nicely. The vanilla was a little less smooth than expected, but present. Very good body and mouth feel. All in all was worth a try.
Boulder CO brewery Avery released the latest in their Barrel-Aged Series, Double D’s, a 10.3% ABV Spiced Ale aged in bourbon barrels with ginger. #BarrelAged #Avery #DoubleDs

Raja is the latest IPA from the Boulder, CO brewery Avery. A relative to the highly praise Imperial IPA The Maharaja, Raja comes in a 8% ABV and 70 IBU’s. It is the Prince to Maharaja’s “King of the IPA” title.
On the pour it is much lighter in color than I was expecting with a somewhat floral nose. Hops are present on the nose, but overall lighter than what I was expecting from a DIPA. This beer is soft on palette and masks the 8% ABV well. It is on the piney, or dank side of the IPA spectrum, but not over-powering. Very pleasant and a great addition to the Avery IPA family. #IPA #Avery #DrinkColorado
